TV Nova and MTV Networks International (MTVNI), a division of
Viacom Inc. (NYSE: VIA, VIA.B) announced that MTV Czech will begin
broadcasting 29 November, 2009, available to both Czech and Slovak
audiences via cable, satellite and IPTV platforms.
MTV is a leading multimedia brand for youth and MTV Czech will be
offered as part of TV Nova's family of terrestrial and cable
entertainment and thematic channels. Following Nova Cinema and Nova
Sport, MTV Czech will become the third thematic channel in the
family of TV Nova. MTV Czech is the 69th MTV channel to launch
further expanding MTVNI's global network covering 162
countries.
The channel will be a fully localised service offering youth-oriented programming 24-hours a day drawing upon MTV's rich library of content showcasing a mixture of local and international music and long form programming from Nitro Circus to Cribs amongst other MTV favourites. A Czech language website - www.mtv.cz - will support the channel from launch.























Yes, they had about 10 VJs in the period between 2005 and 2007. Shows were hosted either in Slovenian or Serbo-Croatian. Some VJs still used to show up on some shows thoughout 2008. Later on, VJs were dropped and the channel began using English as its main language for ads and promos. Now it seems to have gone a bit more local again, however without VJs for now.
